eidi Reimer is a novelist, a writing coach with Sarah Selecky Writing School, and the creator of Novel Alchemy, a conscious group coaching program that supports you to complete the first draft of your novel. Her debut novel, The Mother Act, was published in April 2024, receiving a starred review from Publishers Weekly and a spot on best books lists from People Magazine and Chatelaine. Molly Fast-Jong wrote in the New York Times Book Review that The Mother Act “offers an ultimately hopeful vision of what it means to be connected in this world.” Heidi has published in The New Quarterly, LitHub, Literary Mama, and the anthologies The M Word: Conversations About Motherhood and Body & Soul: Stories for Skeptics and Seekers. Heidi has tried to write or longed to write or resisted writing or feared writing or, finally, actually written for 38 years.

About Sarah Selecky

S arah Selecky started this school to help writers centre their relationship with writing, learn excellent craft and technique, and nourish their spirit as they work. Her first book, This Cake Is for the Party, was a finalist for the Scotiabank Giller Prize, shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best First Book, and longlisted for the Frank O’Connor International Short Story Award. Her second book, Radiant Shimmering Light, was optioned by Amy Adams for a premium one-hour television series with HBO, and published in Canada, Australia and New Zealand, the U.K., the U.S., and Poland. Her book, Story Is a State of Mind:Writing and the Art of Creative Curiosityis a guide to help writers strengthen their inner resources in service of a limitless writing practice. In 2010, she created the Sarah Selecky Writing School, now a creative community of over 10,000 writers from around the world. She lives in Prince Edward County, Ontario.
